Color Your Day

The Color Your Day class was very impressive. This is my last class for the AECP Level II. Sometimes when making a card I get stuck with how much color and what colors. This class centered around how to alleviate those challenges. The Color Wheel is a great start, but I centered in on theContinue reading “Color Your Day”

Mood Colors

I just took the Altenew In the Mood for Color class. This class was creating cards that convey different moods. Instead of just having a particular color I tried to do a card with different colors, but conveying similar moods. Overall, the blues were supposed to be calming, and the blue green was relaxing. ThereContinue reading “Mood Colors”

Coneflower

I just took the Beyond Basic Backgrounds class as as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Many cool ways of adding to the cards by backgrounds. I initially made an alcohol background, but decided to make a smaller background as the focal point. I stamped the sentiment and cut the Yupo to get theContinue reading “Coneflower”

Sweet Nothing

I took the Masking Unleashed class as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I’m pretty impressed with Masking, I didn’t think I would be, it takes a little extra time, but it really improves the look. I used the Sweet Nothings stamp set by Altenew. Stamped the Flower and Sentiment in Altenew Sea GlassContinue reading “Sweet Nothing”

Level 2 – Magic Marker Techniques

I took the Magic Marker Techniques Class by Altenew for my certification. I had no idea so many ways they could be used. Since I love working with Alcohol Inks, I specifically gravitated toward the alcohol markers. I really like the way they show up on the vellum. To make the background I scribbled severalContinue reading “Level 2 – Magic Marker Techniques”

July 2021 Inspiration Challenge

The July 21 Inspiration Challenge was put up on the blog site, and I immediatly knew what I could do. I had a stamp for awhile that I thought I would use. This was an easy challenge. I used Ranger Sparkle paper. Altenew alcohol inks for the background, and used a blower to move theContinue reading “July 2021 Inspiration Challenge”

Heat Embossing

I recently took the Impressive Heat Embossing class for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. It was impressive. I have always liked embossing, but this class showed a lot of different ways, that I can’t wait to try. I used a dark card, and embossed with Versamark Ink. This created a darker tone on tone look.Continue reading “Heat Embossing”

Faux Watercolor Polychromatic

Trying the faux watercolor from the polychromatic class. Cool technique and easy to do. Only two color were used for flowers and leaves. I colored the stamp carefully with Zig Clean Color markers. Make sure you use a light hand so you don’t mess up your marker. When colored like you want, lightly spray withContinue reading “Faux Watercolor Polychromatic”
